Factors Influencing Knowledge of Hepatitis B Vaccination amongst Healthcare Workers in a Rural Teaching Hospital in Southern Nigeria

Introduction: Healthcare workers (HCWs) are daily exposed to HBV infections from the blood and body fluids of patients clients they care for in health sector. Unfortunately, many these HCWs not vaccinated hepatitis B. This study aimed assess factors influencing knowledge B vaccination amongst a rural tertiary facility Edo State, Southern Nigeria. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used this study, data were collected using quantitative approach. 280 administered with pre-tested, semi-structured interviewer-administered questionnaires. The obtained analyzed IBM SPSS version 21.0, level significance – alpha (?) set at 5% (0.05). Results: mean age 34.90(±9.46) years. Just above half HCWs, 146 (52.1%), had good (HB) vaccine. Work type (p<0.001) category significantly associated by respondents. Conclusion: There poor work HCW as determinants. Priority should be given ensure targeted promotion programmes that will improve knowledge, view enhance optimal uptake vaccine HCWs.
